This was the gas station and motel. There was a girl working there for her first week. She goes to Hofstra in Queens, NY and decided to work here for the summer. Good luck Alana!

Sun came out and dried up much of the road.

Super nice guy. We were trying to fix the heater controls on our truck when he rolled up. He got out with a shovel that I thought for sure he was going to brain us with. After cleaning up his truck he stopped over and started chatting us up. Gave us atour of his truck and a quick education on 5th wheel placement and the Dalton. His dad is a big-time guide in Alaska. Best of luck Cody.

Pretty vast. We are talkin' major open land. There is very little out here. Sorta spooky if you ponder it too long.

The mud is mixed with lime or something that is used to keep the dust down....makes a sort of dirty concrete that does not come off easily. Looks cool though.

Straight up Tundra! This was a view from an outcropping of rocks that has been known as a scouting position for hunting caribou back in the day. We climbed all over the rocks and this picture does not do justice to the view.

Pretty amazing that this this is so long. We followed a lot of this along the way since the Dalton was built to help access the pipeline. There is an old highway that is to the west. A trucker met on the way said it was pretty sketchy but would make for a pretty exciting time.
